Trade Specialist - Agri-Value

Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership (STEP) is seeking a Trade Specialist - Agri-Value as part of its dynamic team of international marketing professionals.

Your role is to promote Saskatchewan's export interests in the agriculture and value-added processing sector. You will undertake trade development activities to advance opportunities for Saskatchewan exporters, both nationally and internationally, that support their pursuit of sales, contracts and, projects.

Primary responsibilities include counseling exporters on international market opportunities and strategies, organizing outgoing trade missions and attracting international buyers to Saskatchewan. Strong sales/marketing/business development, communication and project management skills are necessary to generate results and work with the network of Saskatchewan exporters, partner organizations and international contacts. This is a full time permanent position located in either Saskatoon or Regina.

In addition to qualities noted above, you need to possess other knowledge, skills and abilities such as:

  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in international business or marketing
  • Minimum of three years of relevant work experience in marketing, new business development or sales. - Agriculture/food industry experience preferred but not essential.
  • Strong knowledge of Saskatchewan export capabilities
  • Good knowledge of international marketing and business practices
  • Flexibility to travel in-province and outside of the province and country
  • Excellent verbal & written communications skills
  • Canadian citizenship or Canadian permanent residency

STEP is seeking a Trade Specialist - Technology, Services & Resources as part of its dynamic team of international marketing professionals.

Your role is to promote Saskatchewan's export interests within the technology, services and resource sector, with the main focus being the technology sector. You will plan and undertake trade development activities to advance opportunities for Saskatchewan technology companies, both nationally and internationally, that support their pursuit of sales, contracts and projects.

Primary responsibilities include counseling exporters on their market opportunities and strategies, organizing outgoing trade missions, attracting international buyers to Saskatchewan and assisting with the provision of market intelligence for clients.

You are responsible for developing and implementing export strategies and meeting your individual targets. Strong communication, project management and team building skills are necessary to deliver results and work with the network of Saskatchewan exporters, partner organizations and international contacts. This is a full time permanent position located in either Regina or Saskatoon.

In addition to qualities noted above, you need to possess other knowledge, skills and abilities such as:

  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in the areas of international marketing and sales
  • Strong knowledge of the information and communications technology sector
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience is preferred, ideally in the field of sales or marketing in the technology industry
  • Strong knowledge of Saskatchewan export capabilities
  • Membership growth and retention skills
  • Good knowledge of international marketing and business practices
  • Flexibility to travel in-province and outside of the province and country
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
