Communications Specialist

STEP is seeking a highly creative individual to join our team in the role of Communications Specialist in the Regina office.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and execution of communication strategies centered around STEP and our members in concert with internal and external stakeholders.  The Communications Specialist manages the production of STEP’s communications tools such as quarterly magazine, print & digital marketing materials along with the website and social media content.  Reporting to the Vice President, Membership and Marketing, the Communications Specialist will be a confident, proactive, and dynamic team member.


  • A degree in marketing, communications/public relations, journalism or related field.
  • Three or more years of experience in public relations/communications role, with a strong preference for demonstrated skills in internet-based marketing applications & social media
  • Strong ability to write on a number of topics for a variety of platforms.
  • Knowledge of multimedia technology including website management, social media, email marketing platforms and design software.
  • Highly creative, out-of-the-box thinker and storyteller.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail, with proven ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and effectively
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration and teamwork skills critical
  • Ability to act with the highest business ethics, display good judgment and leadership, and sustain a high level of energy, drive, and personal commitment to the task.
