2018 Saskatchewan State of Trade

One of the key pillars of Saskatchewan’s economic performance is the strength and resiliency of the province’s export focused sectors. In spite of the uncertainty created by the renegotiation of the Canada-U.S. free trade agreement, the report notes that exports to the U.S. increased by 14.7 percent to $17.3 billion maintaining their position as the number one market for Saskatchewan products. Overall, the value of Saskatchewan’s exports rose 11.2 percent to approximately $31.2 billion, an increase of approximately $2.3 billion from 2017.
