The Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership in partnership with Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture are inviting you to an exciting virtual event March 2, 2021, for those who are interested in learning, sharing and exploring valuable information on doing business in Japan. This webinar will focus on doing business in Japan and Japanese business culture, specific Japanese market insights and share an experience from a STEP member.

Speakers:
Takeshi Saito, Executive Director, JETRO Toronto 
Takeshi SAITO joined JETRO in 1988. He has been assigned to JETRO’s overseas offices three times in his life – Germany, United States and Canada. He works in Toronto as a representative of JETRO in Canada since last August. JETRO, or the Japan External Trade Organization, is a government-related organization that works to promote mutual trade and investment between Japan and the rest of the world. 

Jeff Thackeray, Senior Director, Market Intelligence, STEP
Born and raised in Regina, Jeff Thackeray’s background is focused around trade and economic development. Jeff completed a Bachelor of Administration, specializing in marketing from the University of Regina before working as a Business Development Officer with the Prince Albert Regional Economic Development Authority.  Jeff has worked with Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership (STEP) since 2006 in a variety of roles and currently serves as the Senior Director, Market Intelligence at STEP. Jeff also holds a Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) designation.

Michael Chubb, Managing Director, SCCL 
Michael Chubb has been leading business development initiatives with science-based companies for 22 years. Presently he leads the Saskatoon Colostrum Company (SCCL), a veterinary biological manufacturer. Japan ranks #2 of the 20 countries it exports to.  Over 20 years, sales have grown from 10,000 to 600,000 units – all manufactured in Saskatoon. Michael, when not limited by Covid, regularly works directly with distributors and sales teams in Japan. Michael has an appreciation for some of the factors that are essential to the growth and development of new markets for domestic manufacturers.
