Trade Mission - Livestock Genetics Trade Mission to Poland Warsaw, Poland

Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership (STEP) is organizing a Business Development Trade Mission to Warsaw, Poland. The focus of this mission is to promote Saskatchewan beef cattle genetics. The beef cow herd has continued to increase in Central Europe. EU subsidies for beef and veal production (except in Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg and Cyprus), the local demand for high quality beef, and the export demand for live cattle is driving increased beef production. In Central Europe, farmers are switching from dairy to beef cows due to the increased competition on the dairy market since the milk quotas have been abandoned.

STEP is working with the Trade Commissioner Services in Warsaw and the Poland Cattle Breeders Association to conduct a robust program, including meeting pre-qualified breeders and producers, and visiting farms and potential customers.
