Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership (STEP) provides core services essential to international marketing. Services are structured to develop member export sales and enable them to stay strong in the global marketplace.
STEP events provide an excellent opportunity for companies to network and to gain exposure with other participants who are directly involved with the export of goods and services from Saskatchewan. Ongoing export training sessions and networking events are available at member rates.
Whether selling your product or service to international markets or even to other provinces in Canada, exporters are faced with challenges that are not present in their local market place. The International Finance Group provides the services that companies need to face these challenges head on and successfully sell their product.
International development projects focus on emerging markets. These markets represent the long-term growth potential of Saskatchewan exports. The difficulty for our members in these regions is to source foreign buyer financing to purchase our goods and services.
Saskatchewan Trade & Export Partnership’s Market Access Program (MAP) is a program designed to support the domestic and international marketing efforts of STEP members. Funds are provided to assist STEP regular member companies in entering a new market or making a return visit (within 24 months of the initial visit) to a new market, outside of Saskatchewan. New market sectors within established geographical markets will be considered.
Our focus on market intelligence and custom market research recognizes what our members continue to tell us. In today’s competitive environment, knowledge creates success. Mobilizing a number of information sources including our own Trade Development and International Finance Teams, the MI Team develops and delivers the intelligence exporters need to be successful globally.
Enhanced and customized services designed for STEP Regular Members. Services tailored to Regular Members who are currently involved in export, have the product or service offerings, resources and commitment to pursue international markets. Service offering is ideal for medium to large exporters who are aggressively seeking new business. Suite of customized premium membership services, at an additional fee to current annual sales membership service level offering.
As a Premium Membership benefit, STEP members who are able to demonstrate new business opportunities by inviting a buyer to Saskatchewan, will be eligible to apply under the Premium Member Incoming Buyer Program.
A business development service organized by STEP for individual STEP members whereby STEP essentially provides a business trip planning service. This service is built around the same idea and concepts already established for trade missions without STEP personnel being directly involved in the travel component of the trip. Staff will work with the STEP member to choose a market, assist them in various aspects of the travel and business program.
Success in international markets requires customized approaches and marketing savvy. Different countries require different approaches to conclude sales, contracts and projects. STEP’s Trade Development Team assists exporters in finding creative and effective ways to maximize their export potential.
