Immigration Levels Planning Process - Balancing Priorities to Meet Canada’s Immigration Objectives
Employers are advised of the Immigration Levels Planning Process undertaken by the Government of Canada.  The process is designed to balance the immigration program’s objectives and to  meet the Government’s priorities and commitments. The Federal Government recognizes that for immigration to continue to respond to Canada’s needs, it is critical to receive input from provincial/territorial partners and from immigration stakeholders across the country.  The purpose of the consultations is to:

  • Provide an overview of the immigration levels planning;
  • Seek views on immigration levels from multiple perspectives, including those of employers, unions, settlement service providers, and other key stakeholders; and
  • Increase CIC knowledge of local socio-economic and labour market conditions in a manner that will assist the levels-planning process.

For further information and to provide feedback, please see the attached document or visit http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/consultations/levels/index.asp
