Award Recipients - September  2010
The co-recipients of the 2010 STEP Exporter of the Year Award are Alliance Grain Traders Inc. and Hillberg & Berk Accessories Inc.  For the first time in the history of the award, two companies have been named the STEP Exporter of Year.  Sponsored by Export Development Canada, the award recognizes excellence in the company’s achievements and their success in tackling export markets.  The award was presented on September 29, 2010 at the 2010 STEP Trade Conference “Taking the Best to the World.”

Award Finalists - August 2010
Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership (STEP) is pleased to announce the five finalists for the 2010 STEP Exporter of the Year Award.  The finalists are: 

  • Alliance Grain Traders Inc. - Regina, Saskatchewan
  • Display Systems International Inc. - Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
  • GB Internet Solutions Inc. - Regina, Saskatchewan
  • Hillberg & Berk Accessories Inc. - Regina, Saskatchewan
  • Sakundiak Equipment - Regina, Saskatchewan

The Exporter of the Year Award, sponsored by Export Development Canada, acknowledges these STEP members for their achievements and success in tackling world markets.  EDC is Canada's export credit agency, offering innovative commercial solutions to help Canadian exporters and investors expand their international business.

The STEP Exporter of the Year Award was introduced in 1999 to recognize the export achievements of STEP members.  The Award recognizes these achievements based on a variety of criteria including:

  • the introduction of new products/services into new markets
  • a significant increase in export sales
  • a high ratio of export sales to total sales
  • a positive impact on the community through job creation

The Exporter of the Year award recipient will receive public recognition, affirmation of business excellence from peers, as well as province-wide and international acknowledgment.

Applications were reviewed by a Selection Committee of Saskatchewan business leaders involved in providing assistance to exporters. Eligible companies must be Regular Members of STEP who are actively exporting.

The 2010 STEP Exporter of the Year Award presentation will take place during the 2010 STEP Trade Conference, September 29, 2010.
