Western Ag Innovations Inc. was incorporated in 1994 and in 1995 they commenced the development of the Plant Root Simulator, (PRS)^TM and Nutrient Forecaster. The Plant Root Simulator (PRS)^TM probe consists of an ion-exchange membrane encapsulated in a plastic probe. The PRS^TM probe is inserted into soil and measures ion flux over time with minimal disturbance. Following the acceptance in the scientific community, the PRS^TM Nutrient Forecaster software was developed and released in Western Canada. This software allows growers to quantify risks associated with fertilizer decisions and crop nutrition plans. This service is delivered through a network of sales representatives coordinated by the associated company, Western Ag Labs. For the past ten years, the PRS^TM probes have provided a basis for determining fertilizer recommendations in Western Canada for 15 different cereal, pulse, and forage crops.

Current Products and Services:
Plant Root Simulator (PRS)^TM - probe and PRS^TM Nutrient Forecaster are serviced to producers through a field service rep network. PRS^TM probes are also used all over the world in the scientific research community.
