Feeds Innovation Institute is a non-profit university organization that provides full-time feed product development, nutritional research (market and science based), educational and information resources to feed commodity groups, livestock industry and others associated with the feed industry as required. The Feeds Innovation Institute is an industry-driven partnership between the feed commodity sectors, feed and livestock industries, University of Saskatchewan and Governments. The Feeds Innovation Institute operates under a board of directors, giving it direction, continuity, responsiveness and responsibility to the industry. The Feeds Innovation Institute, which is located within the Department of Animal and Poultry Science, carries forth research and development activities pertaining to Western Canadian feedstuffs through initiatives which compliment and enhance the research activities at the University of Saskatchewan.

Current Products and Services: Design, implement and carry out applied research and development on existing and new feedstuffs in support of existing and new feedstuff production and utilization; gathering, development and dissemination of technical and strategic information related to feedstuff and byproduct feed production processing and use; initiate and implement targeted research, development and technology transfer activities on Western Canadian feedstuffs specific to industries needs; and to provide an accessible entity for the industry capable of and responding to and linking national and international players related to feed utilization.
