Peacock Industries, a company situated 30 minutes north of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada was started in 1985 with a product called Hopper Stopper and found immediate success due to a high infestation of grasshoppers. In 1994, Peacock Industries decided to reformulate Hopper Stopper and changed the active ingredient to carbaryl. That year they completed PMRA registration for the product Eco Bran in Canada. Two years later Peacock Industries completed EPA registration in the United States for Eco Bran. In 2002, Peacock Industries purchased the "De-Bug" label and manufacturing plant from Van Diest Supply Co. in McCook, Nebraska.
