Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) is a non-profit, Japanese government related organization dedicated to promoting mutually beneficial trade and investment between Japan and other countries. Headquartered in Tokyo, JETRO has a network of 36 offices in Japan and 74 overseas offices located in 56 countries including 2 of which are in Canada; Toronto (ICT, Automotive Manufacturing, Biotechnology & Agri-Food) and Vancouver (High Tech). JETRO’s core focus is to promote foreign direct investment into Japan providing foreign investors with information on aspects of setting up a business in Japan as well as offering on-demand expert consultation service and even free temporary office space in Japan. Working closely with all levels of governments, industries, and organizations, JETRO’s activities in Canada are designed to promote two-way business partnerships between Canadian and Japanese companies.
