The Saskatchewan Pulse Growers (SPG) represent 15,000 pulse crop producers in Saskatchewan. SPG is funded by a mandatory, non-refundable check-off and led by a producer-elected Board of Directors, comprised of seven Saskatchewan pulse growers. The four major pulse crops grown in Saskatchewan are pea, lentil, chickpea and bean. Canada is the world?s leading lentil, pea, and chickpea exporter. Saskatchewan growers produce 100% of the Canadian lentil crop, 78% of the Canadian pea crop, and 85% of the Canadian chickpea crop. SPG promotes sustainable innovation, growth, and prosperity through pulse industry leadership, collaboration, and support.
