Sean Frisky
President, Ground Effects Environmental Services Inc.

Sean Frisky is the President and CEO of Ground Effects Environmental Services, Inc. (GEE). From 1994 to 2000, Sean attended the University of Regina and graduated with a degree in Environmental Engineering. He has been designing and manufacturing innovative remediation equipment for the past 8 years. With 3 patents and 70 new products, GEE is now the North American leader in the environmental remediation equipment. GEE currently employs 40 full-time staff manufacturing environmental remediation equipment out of the Ground Effects headquarters in Regina, Saskatchewan and currently has systems operating across Canada and the United States.

In 1998, when Sean started GEE in his basement office with a single-car garage serving as a manufacturing facility, he was focused mainly on the Saskatchewan market, with an eye to work in Alberta and Manitoba. The company, which designs, manufactures and sells environmental remediation equipment, quickly grew from a one-man show to a 35-employee operation. In addition to Ground Effects Environmental Services, Sean started Ground Effects Industrial, a distribution company that supplies specialty mining equipment.

Over the past eight years, the bulk of GEE’s sales and service (96 per cent) have occurred outside the province. While much of that work is in Canada, they have broken into the lucrative American market, supplying General Motors in Detroit with systems and remediating properties in North Carolina and California. They are also working with companies in Australia, Trinidad and Tobago.

Working in the United States and abroad has given Sean knowledge in marketing and international business. In addition, Sean started both companies from scratch and knows what start-up businesses, mid-range and larger-scale companies need.

Ground Effects Environmental Services, Inc. has won many awards over the past few years and as GEE continues to grow, Sean looks forward to the new challenges and opportunities ahead.
