Greg Larson
President, The Larson Group of Companies

Greg Larson was born in Broadview, Saskatchewan and was raised in Leross, Saskatchewan. Greg attended high school at Luther college in Regina and continued on to 1st year Arts and Sciences at the University of Regina. Greg then acquired a Retail Meat Cutting Certificate from Kelsey Institute in Saskatoon. Greg moved back to Leross to assist his father with the family owned abattoir and was able to increase productivity, decrease staff and bring the company from a position of loss to profit. He spent some time researching how the hide market functioned, and what it would take to launch his own hide business.

Greg traveled around Saskatchewan purchasing beef, pork, bison, sheep and wild game hides and skins for processing and then resale in the international markets. Larson Hides was incorporated in 1990 and has been growing and expanding continually. In 2004, Greg purchased the abattoir from his family and began a custom processing business, continues to operate Larson’s Abattoir and Larson Hides and has plans for expansion on the existing facility. Greg has served on the local REDA board for several years as well as the local and divisional school boards. Greg is married and he and his wife Lisa reside in Leross with their four children, Christina, Melissa, Brittany and Samuel.
