Doug Matthies
DM, Saskatchewan Finance
Doug was born and raised in Saskatchewan and is a member of the Saskatchewan Institute of Chartered Accountants. As a professional accountant, he worked in the private sector, providing financial and business advisory services to a broad range of businesses, including privately held and publicly traded enterprises. His career in government started in 1988, when he joined the Saskatchewan Pension Plan as Director of Finance, and later became its General Manager.
In 1992, Doug moved to the Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation, initially as its Comptroller and two years later became the General Manager. In that position he was heavily involved in policy development, program operation, industry stakeholder relations, and federal-provincial relations.
Doug is also a member of several Board’s and agencies, including the Saskatchewan Grain Car Corporation, the Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership, the Agriculture Development Fund, the Saskatchewan Food Centre Inc., and the Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation.
Doug graduated with Distinction from the University of Regina. He holds a Bachelor of Administration degree, having majored in Finance and minored in Economics. |
